Originally from the Czech Republic, Martina started her dance training in Latin Ballroom dance at the age of 9 and at the age of 13 she already became Czech Latin Youth Champion. The same year she placed in semifinal in the World Latin Youth Championship. Her dance career and dance recognition took off since then. She represented her native country at numerous competitions throughout the Europe and USA. She is a Czech International Latin Youth Champion, World International Latin Youth Semifinalist, UK International Latin Youth Semifinalist, winner of the Open International Latin Championships in Germany, Belgium, Poland, Italy and Ukraine, Austria and European Show Dance Finalist.
Coming to NYC Martina’s reputation extends beyond the competitive dance floor. Her performing credits includes featured role as a dancers in full- length dance piece based on the movie “Bodyguard” toured throughout the Czech Republic, participation in Las Vegas Show Le Reve in the development of a new show section featuring ballroom dancing, performing in Art and Dance Festival in Brazil, Belgium and France, appearance in NBC Today’s show performing Salsa and Cha-cha with Marc Anthony, Queen Latifah and Tiki Barber as well as appearance in CW11 where she was performing Mambo at Larry’s Hoff show.
Her television and media include appearance in Ketchup Spack commercial, Lavazza Café commercial, Reader’s Digest English Interactive Software commercial, Hip hop/Dancehall Karaoke video for Japanese TV, appearance in Czech TV and European Eurosport as a performer and competitor.
As a Dance Coach, Martina currently coaches students and professionals in all styles of dance. Her partner dance, coaching expertise includes social to competitive dance styles in Ballroom, Salsa, Show Dance & Theatre Arts. Newly she just got back from Nigeria where she was invited to teach, coach, introduce and help to develop a competitive International Latin and Salsa on 2 to young Nigerian dancers. She also has been featured as an instructor at Lincoln Center’s Mid Summer Night Swing, Brooklyn Museum of Art to name a few.
Teaching and performing on stage and the competitive floor has given Martina the perfect combination and outlet for her love of music, sport and art. As a coach and teacher, she is able to convey this love and ignite it within her students.
Martina studied extensively with such renowned coaches as Ruud Vermey and Peter Maxwell, Barbara Ambroz, Carmen in the International Latin. Her broad and extensive background in other dance styles includes Salsa, Jazz/Funk, Hip Hop, Modern Dance and Flamenco. Additionally, Martina earned a BA from the University Brno, Czech Republic, in Sports Regeneration and Nutrition and Management in Sport.
